Money: Music is a career just like any other career. You must invest some money in your career if you are to be taken seriously. You will need a good master demo that correctly captures your singing ability. You can, by working at your music like a true profession or career, make it pay its own expenses. It may come as a shock to you, but even major label recording artists pay for their own recordings. The record label advances the recording money, and then deducts it from the singer's royalties before the artist earns their first penny. New artists pay all of their own expenses first.
Desire: Many singers think they want a career in music, but they do not want to put in the necessary work needed to succeed. You have to work to build your career in music, just like in any other profession. It takes time and dedication to develop a music career, to become known, and to be "in demand" for concerts. It does not happen overnight, although there will be big steps along the way, and at times you will feel as if you are riding a rollercoaster. You must have patience and dedication!
